COURSE DESCRIPTION

In a risk assessment,  potential events and consequences are considered. In this course, we focus on unwanted events such as failures and accidents. This could be, for example, a gas leak or afire at an oil platform, that equipment stops working during an operation in a hospital, or that an accident occurs during the execution of a work task. The risk analysis process consists of three phases:

  1) Planning

  2) Risk assessment

  3) Risk management

This course shows how these phases can be planned and implemented in practice. There are many guidelines and standards on how a risk assessmentcan be carried out, and many are adapted to particular industries and professional areas.
